Shoot-out leaves questions unanswered

Only empty bullet cases were found at the scene of a shoot-out.

Frightened community members of Rant-en-Dal took to Facebook after hearing several gunshots last night (Monday 28 September).

Sector 3 Community Policing Forum members quickly reacted to the call-out following the gunshots fired in Hugo Street.

On arrival at the scene CPF members found nothing but empty bullet cases in the street close to the corner of Cecil Knight Street.

It is believed that two VW Polos were involved in the shoot-out before fleeing the scene without a trace.

A Krugersdorp sector police vehicle was deployed to the scene where members collected the empty bullet cases as evidence for further investigation.

Fortunately no one was reported to be injured during the incident and the scene was cleared before 7pm by patrollers on the scene.

The News contacted the Sector 3 CPF who could not confirm that road rage was linked to the incident.
