Happily spoiling Mug and Tree
Maragon follows its head girl's example by supporting Mug and Tree.
The pupils of Maragon Private Schools in Ruimsig recently paid a visit to Krugersdorp’s Mug and Tree Community Care to spoil the children for the day.
First stop was at McDonald’s where the pupils collected Happy Meals. Arriving at Mug and Tree the pupils unloaded boxes of non-perishable food that were donated by the High School pupils.
“We were received by excited kids who could not wait to enjoy their Happy Meals,” said Belinda Espag, Maragon’s Marketing Manager.
The school decided to support Mug and Tree after Karli Coetzee, their head girl, took it upon herself earlier this year to collect donations to build a hall for the organisation.
Every year Maragon chooses a charity for which they will hold a Christmas party. This year they decided on Mug and Tree. The Christmas party is scheduled for 21 November and will take place in the newly built hall.
“Parents and residents can look out for the Christmas tree that will be erected in the foyer of the Maragon Admin building. They can pick a card from the tree that will have a child’s name, age and gender on it. This information can be used to purchase a gift for a specific child,” Belinda explained.
Mug and Tree also is planning to open a baby care unit in the near future.
“We would appreciate any support or suggestions,” she concluded.
