Man blue in the face found in ditch
CPF discovered a man in the ditch with shoelaces tied tightly around his neck.
The Sector 5 Community Policing Forum (CPF) discovered a man blue in his face in a ditch close to Burgershoop yesterday.
A group of curious school children gathered near the ditch to get a glimpse of the unconscious man, after which Sector 5 CPF was called.
On arrival at around 2.45pm CPF members found an unknown man laying in the ditch.
They immediately attended to him while he was turning blue in the face and had a weak pulse.
The man was unable to speak and members found what looked like shoelaces tied tightly around his neck.
ER24 was called to the scene. Paramedics stabilised the man before transporting him to Leratong Hospital for further medical treatment.
It is still unclear how the man ended up in the ditch with shoelaces tied around his neck.
