The reason why there is no power

Residents from Monument woke up this morning with no electricity.
After numerous phone calls from frustrated residents about the power being off since midnight, the News contacted Mogale City for answers.
A representative confirmed that a complaint was received and technicians were sent to the location.
It is believed that a number of fuses from a substation in the area were stolen last night, leaving the residents in the dark.
The representative confirmed that Mogale City officials are currently working on the problem but could not indicate when resident could expect to have their power restored.
“The fuses have been replaced, but now we are struggling with high voltage, therefore we cannot stipulate when the power will be back on,” the official said.
