Primary school bids farewell to principal
Mrs Degenaar will be remembered for her courage and creativity.
The recent farewell function for Mrs Degenaar, principal of Silverfields Primary School was a joyous celebration of the successes that the school has achieved under her leadership.
Several speakers and well-wishers emphasised Mrs Degenaar’s dedication and good leadership skills, which saw the school grooming pupils to become pillars of their communities.
She was part of the Silvies staff for 23 years, first as HOD Guidance and since 1996 as Principal. After spending 19 years at the helm of the school, she retired at the end of September.
Mrs Degenaar will be remembered for her courage and creativity, as well as her loving, fun and joyful attitude towards the children at school.
