Alleged brothel disguised as car wash
A suspicious pamphlet in a suspects possession leads police to a shocking discovery.
Police and CPF patrollers made a shocking discovery after following up on a tip-off of possible illegal activity in Silverfields.
After police stopped and searched a suspect earlier last month, police found a pamphlet in the suspect’s possession with the words “Let me get your motor running” and an address on. The police decided to investigate and planned a raid.
On Friday night, 6 November, at around 8pm, police together with CPF Sector 8 members as back up, raided the car wash situated in Carol Street.
The house on the premises was furnished with beds and a bar section, where a client was caught engaging in illegal activity at the time of the raid.
Crack pipes and dozens of condoms decorated the floor of the house and with the help of the police’s K9 unit, a large amount of drugs were discovered hidden outside by one of the dogs.

Five alleged sex workers were found on the property with the youngest being 25 years of age.
The house is divided into seven bedrooms with two more at the back, one of which in a Wendy hut where the alleged sex workers provided various services as advertised.
One of the workers told the CPF that she is simply involved in the sex trade to pay off her studies, while the other one said her two children were removed from her care and that is why she is there.
Another worker on the premises is from the Eastern Cape while the other is originally from Northcliff.
Police managed to obtain a court interdict where they learned that the owners have been struggling for months to evict the squatting tenants. They also claimed they were not aware of the brothel being run on their property.
