No water: pipe bursts a second time

After a pipe had burst near a high school, workers had to return after it burst again.

Residents in parts of Krugersdorp North and Munsieville will go a second day without water after a fixed burst pipe burst for the second time.

Mogale City Municipality Spokesperson Nkosana Zali sent the following release to the News this morning:

“Please note the water and sanitation team has been working on fixing a burst pipe near Jan de Klerk High School, which borders the west and north of Krugersdorp, since Friday, 20 November. After sealing and joining it, unfortunately it gave in again – tell tale signs of aging infrastructure. The team has gone back to fix it. Water supply has since been disrupted.”

The following is the contingency plan:

Emergency water tankers will be placed at Rant-en-Dal Spar, Munsieville Usave and next to the sports grounds in Munsieville.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” Zali concluded.
