AGO competed against 112 other businesses in their category and was announced the top achiever at The Makrosafe Health & Safety Awards.

The criteria for the winner was determined over a 12-month period, which ran from 1 July 2014 until 30 June this year, on each business’ average health and safety compliance percentage.

AGO managed to achieve a 97,8 per cent average.

The Makrosafe Health & Safety Awards was introduced in 2013 to acknowledge companies and individuals who go to great lengths to ensure health and safety in their workplaces.

Participating and winning the award is simple as the clients are expected to maintain or reduce the number of incidents reported in the workplace in the time frame.

The winners are determined by analysing each company’s records on health and safety.

“It is not always glamourous, exciting or fun, but safety is important in our industry. It is fantastic to come first. What an incredibly good achievement. We are looking forward to raising the bar for next year,” Terry said.
