Warning: Road closed due to heavy rain

Motorists are urged to take an alternative route as the road has flood again.

Motorists using Albertina Sisulu Road (Main Reef Road) and more particularly, those who need to drive under the Chamdor Road train bridge, are advised to change their route when going home, as the infamous road has flooded once again.

The road has been closed off from both sides after this afternoon’s rainfall.

Mogale City’s Emergency Services along with Help24 were called out to the road around 3pm after a bakkie got stuck in the water.

With Help24’s assistance the bakkie was towed out by 3.30pm with no injuries or damages reported.

The water mark left on the vehicle indicated that the flood was more than a metre deep.

With the heavy hail storm on 9 January, the road was also closed as a taxi was completely stuck in the water.
