[VIDEO] Mindalore commune engulfed in flames
All that's left of a Mindalore commune is a pile of burnt goods and ashes.
Curious residents and motorists looked on as a commune in Ruben Street in Mindalore almost burnt to the ground.
Patrollers of the Sector 9 Community Policing Forum quickly responded to a call-out when a vigilant resident, Madelein Rautenbach, stopped at the premises after noticing smoke coming from the roof at around 1pm.
She rushed into the yard and entered the house to quickly help evacuate a mother with a baby who was in the house at the time the fire broke out.

CPF quickly jumped in and helped carry out valuable goods from the house which included television sets, washing machines and clothes.
The sound of gas bottles exploding could be heard as curious and concerned residents stood by as CPF block off the scene and redirect motorists, to make way for emergency services.
According to one of the tenants, the owner of the property recently sold it resulting in it not being insured as it will only be handed over to the new owner at the end of the month.

The emotional tenant cried as she told the News that she lost nearly everything, including her children’s school uniforms, in the fire and only managed to save her Identity Document.
There were four people living inside of the house and two renting the backrooms outside.
Mogale City Emergency Services arrived on the scene shortly after the call-out and quickly jumped out of the fire truck to suit up to start extinguishing the fire.

No serious injuries were reported as ER24 treated one of the tenants who inhaled some smoke.
It is believed the fire broke out in one of the main bedrooms, yet the exact cause is still under investigation.
