Reward for missing cat doubled

Beloved office pet has been missing for more than a month after she hitched a ride in a delivery vehicle.

Sonja Maricevic’s, director of Acana Pet Food, beloved office cat is still missing after it hitch a ride in a delivery vehicle on 14 January.

The News first reported about missing Babbaganoush on 29 January.

Babbaganoush is an eight-year-old female tortoiseshell cat, with black and brown colouring and a black face and was spotted on the office’s CCTV footage climbing into the wheel well of one of the delivery vehicles.

Sonja asked residents of Strydom Park, Randburg, Blairgowrie, Craighall Park, Oaklands, Orange Grove, Krugersdorp and Cosmo City to be on the lookout, as these are all the areas the delivery truck visited on that day.

After nearly a month of searching, another pet food company in Canada came forward and offered to add another R10 000 to the reward fee after hearing Sonja’s plight to find her beloved pet.

Sonja asks that people do not just try to catch every tortoiseshell cat they see, but to rather to call 083 449 5409 or even send a picture via WhatsApp.

“R10 000 will go to the person who provides information leading to her safe return and the other R10 000 will go to a pet charity of their choice. Thank you to Champion Petfoods Canada for the generous offer,” Sonja said.
