[PHOTOS] Road closed after vehicle overturns

Rustenburg Road was closed over the weekend following a serious accident which left three seriously injured.

Three people were seriously injured on Saturday after the vehicle they were traveling in overturned on Rustenburg Road in Krugerdorp West.

Sector 5’s Community Policing Forum’s (CPF) first aid responders were called to Rustenburg Road across Robein Nursery after a vehicle overturned at around 3.15pm on 13 February.

It is believed the driver lost control of the vehicle as they traveled towards town when the vehicle crashed into a lamppost and then overturned due to the impact of the hit.

CPF 5 patrollers along with Mogale City’s Traffic Department officers and members of the Mogale City’s Emergency Management Services closed off all roads leading to the accident to make way for an emergency helicopter landing.

In the meanwhile two of the four occupants of the vehicle were stabilised on the scene by paramedics from Netcare 911 and ER24 before being rushed to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.

The third injured occupant who was unconscious was stabilised on the scene and airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.

Members of the community along with CPF then all jumped in and helped turn the overturned vehicle back onto its wheels to be towed.
