Children’s court refurbished with love
The first room turned out to be a success, and Armand is planning on not stopping there.
Armand du Plessis, current Mr South Africa and a front-runner for this year’s Mr World title, has upped his game once again, this time at the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.
Armand started working at a law firm this year as a candidate attorney after completing his degree at the University of Pretoria. He accompanied a lawyer to the court and there he saw the need to make the children’s court feel more welcoming.

Armand said he wanted to provide children with a better experience when they need to come to court.
Hard at work on a Friday afternoon, Armand and other lawyers and employees from Wynand du Plessis Attorneys helped to paint colourful pictures on the walls of the children’s court waiting room. They hung new curtains and refurbished the room with child-friendly fittings.

“We are also planning on installing a Jungle Gym just outside of the waiting room,” Armand said.
Armand told the News that he has a passion for helping children and wants to specialise in children’s rights as he continues to practice law in South Africa.
“The need was identified earlier this year when I started working as a Candidate Attorney. I approached Clearwater Mall and FarmCity who both agreed to come on board as sponsors, who without this wouldn’t have been possible. I look forward to taking on the next children’s court, and hopefully soon I will be able to make this a national project,” Armand said.

The project is focused on helping children feel comfortable when they have to face a court room. If you would like to contribute to this project, contract Armand by sending an email to armand607@gmail.com.
