Cleaning for the community
A local businesswoman decided to spring clean at a local municipal retirement village as part of launching her business venture.
A former Kagiso resident and new business owner launched a new venture by starting to serve the community first.
Palesa Buthelezi launched her new business, Day Maid Cleaning Service, by visiting a local municipal retirement village on 2 April.
She decided to give back to the less fortunate elderly by offering to clean their homes for free on the day.
“I chose to volunteer at the Jack Cotton flats and wanted to kick my business off on a good note by giving back to the community.”
Palesa, who currently resides in Doornfontein, chose to launch her business in Krugersdorp as she grew up in Kagiso and wanted to reach out to the community where she grew up in.
She feels that although these homes may be small she could make a big difference by spring cleaning for the elderly as some of them who live here are not as mobile as the others.
Palesa and her team of four visited 40 units where they offered their services.
The elderly residents of these units welcomed the women with open arms and were grateful for the unusual spoil.
“I think it is important for entrepreneurs and small business to become one with the community and in this manner grow,” Palesa concluded.
