No water disruption in Mogale
Municipal spokesperson confirms that residents do not have to worry.
The News has received quite a few queries about alleged water disruption commencing tomorrow in parts of Krugersdorp.
After contacting Mogale City Municipality’s spokesperson, Nkosana Zali, it has been confirmed that there is no planned disruption taking place tomorrow and residents can breathe a sigh of relief.
“The municipality has not planned any water supply disruption in the city. We will always use the formal channels that exist to inform our communities about any planned disruptions which include the time frames of the disruption; areas affected; sources of alternative supply of water etc. should it be necessary to do work on our water network system,” Zali said in his response to the News’ queries.
“We view any distribution of communique to the contrary (and not coming from the municipality) as utterly mischievous and causing unnecessary panic among residents and we urge those who do so to desist from such action.
Zali mentions in his response that the municipality is however, aware of City of Joburg’s 30-hour shutdown tomorrow that will affect most of its north-western suburbs, which will have a bearing on supply to the following Muldersdrift areas in Mogale City: Ethembalethu, Rietfontein Village and Plot 89.
“Water tankers will be provided at usual spots like Muldersdrift Spar Centre and Rietfontein Complex. We will monitor the impact of the shutdown and add other supply points as shall be required.”
