Gauteng singer, dancer, actor and model hopefuls can look forward to auditions on Wednesday 27 April at Key West Shopping Centre.
Last year Dylan Cade, 19, from Krugersdorp participated in the Gauteng Summer Heat Model & Talent Search auditions and showed what a big platform Summer Heat could provide.
At the gala finals in December Dylan was chosen as one of the 2016 Cover Models of Summer Heat. The judges selected Dylan as the Summer Heat Male Model of the Year for 2015, and he also placed top five in the singing and acting categories.
At each regional audition around the country, contestants may enter as many individual categories as they wish or for a group performance. They also will participate in a highly informative workshop and a photo shoot. There are no age limits for any of the singing, dancing, acting or modelling categories. Finalists from each regional audition will be selected to represent their province at the National Summer Heat Gala Final Event later in the year.
“We are extremely excited to see the talent that South Africa has to offer at the seventh annual Summer Heat Model & Talent Search auditions,” Gillian Habib, co-founder and co-director of Summer Heat said.
“This is the first time in the seven years of Summer Heat that we have hosted auditions on the West Rand and we are hoping to discover amazing talent here. Each year the talent blows us away and we are sure this year will be no different. We can’t wait to add more people to our Summer Heat family.”
Every contestant who is selected at the regional auditions will be invited to participate in the five-day workshop in preparation of the national awards event. Finalists will gain vital workplace information through various workshops, photo shoots and fun team-building exercises that allow contestants to become part of the supportive Summer Heat family.
Besides providing an incredible opportunity for models, singers, actors and dancers to reveal their talents to the nation, the talent search gives competitors the opportunity to make it on the local and international stage.
At every Summer Heat audition, scouts for the International Talent Showcase will be present to assess the contestants. The select few who stand out will be invited to perform at this showcase where international scout, talent manager and director of Arts USA, Kim Myers, will be present.
Added to this, every contestant also has the opportunity of being evaluated to audition for potential scholarships to study at the New York Film Academy and other tertiary institutes in the USA and Europe.
