Team work stops suspect in his tracks
A suspect was arrested after a vigilant neighbour saw him jumping over a wall.
Vigilant members of the Sector 4 Community Policing Forum (CPF) along with a security response officer chased after a suspect shortly after being spotted jumping over a wall by a neighbour.
Constable Ramohlola and Constable Mushwana from the Krugersdorp Police arrested a suspect for being in possession of stolen property and for breaking into a house on Albertina Sisulu Road in Lewisham on 24 June.
“The members were conducting routine patrols when they noticed CPF members chasing after the suspect. The suspect was found with stolen property,” Krugersdorp Police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale said.
On further investigation it was established that the suspect and his accomplice forced the door open at the house.
Outside the house the CPF members and the response officer showed the police members where they found two plasma television sets, a digital camera, duvet covers and other items which include a toy gun.
The 25-year-old male suspect will appear in court this week facing charges of house breaking and theft.
Krugersdorp Police Station Commander Brigadier Baloyi appreciated the hard work by the members and the good partnership with the community.
