Man tries to con truckers
A suspect was apprehended and handed over to police after he snatched money from the complainant.
A 22-year-old suspect was arrested after he was apprehended by a crew of truckers who handed him over to the police.
The complainant was with his crew parked at a pit stop for a rest when they were approached by an unknown male on 24 June at 6am in Krugersdorp.
“The suspect and another male informed the victim that he was selling a cellphone for R400. While they were busy talking the suspect forcefully grabbed the money from him,” Krugersdorp Police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale said.
The complainant managed to apprehend one suspect and brought him to the Krugersdorp police station.
Upon arrival, police searched the suspect and found a firearm magazine and ammunition in his possession.
The male was detained in local police cells and will appear in court soon.
