Cooking it up for charity

Bikers go head-to-head for the title of potjiekos master at a recent charity event.

Over 500 bikers from various motorcycle clubs met for a jol with a dash of charitable spirit and some brotherhood.

The Stingers Motorcycle Club recently hosted a charity day jol at the Krugersdorp Game Reserve and invited various clubs to join in on a day of fun in the sun while collecting donations.

Entrance to the event was canned goods and the club managed to collect over 3 000 cans of non-perishable foods, which they handed over to the West Rand Biker’s Church in Dan Pienaarville.

The different clubs including the Anchors, Lions of Juda, RBA Wolfs and many others put up gazebos across the picnic area as festivities got under way.

Another highlight of the day was the potjiekos competition, which saw clubs go head to head to find the best potjie chefs. The Dead Men Riding team was crowned the potjiekos masters of the day.

Other awards went to the MACs as the biggest club at the event and the Wicked Wheels walked away as the best supporting club of the day.

“Thank you to each brother and sister of the biking community for their support to made this event a success,” said Piet Bullet Hanekom, Stingers’ president.
