Pupil’s leg fractured after being hit by car

An eyewitness claims the driver shouted at the pupil after knocking him over.

A huge commotion broke out when a pupil who was crossing Rustenburg Road was hit by a car earlier this afternoon.

Patrollers from the Sector 5 Community Policing Forum, paramedics from ER24 and Netcare 911 and Mogale City’s Traffic Department all responded to the scene at the intersection of Rustenburg Road and Flemming Avenue at about 2pm.

An eyewitness said she saw the 15-year-old boy at the traffic light, attempting to cross the road.

A woman in a white Audi came along Rustenburg Road heading towards Krugersdorp West and collided with the boy. She jumped out of her vehicle to check the damages to her car before allegedly accusing the pupil of walking in front of her vehicle.

Bystanders quickly ran to the pupil’s aid.

Paramedics arrived shortly after and treated the pupil on the scene before transporting him to Leratong Hospital for further medical care.

The boy allegedly fractured his leg and injured his arm during the accident.
