Elderly woman tied up while house was ransacked
'One of the suspects allegedly had a firearm'
A 77-year-old woman fell victim to a house robbery that occurred on 29 August when four men allegedly approached her and her gardener at about 11am.
It is alleged that the victim and gardener were outside the house when the men approached them and forced them to go inside. They were then allegedly tied up with shoelaces and forced to lie down. The house was then ransacked.
“One of the suspects allegedly had a firearm,” said Sergeant Tshepiso Mashele, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police.
“The suspects stole valuables such as cellphones, jewellery, and a portable radio.”
She also said that the police are aware of the recent spate of violent crime in the area. “We are doing our utmost to ensure the safety of our community,” Mashele said.
The Krugersdorp Police urge community members to come forward with information that could help them trace and arrest the suspects.
