Suspected serial rapist identifies accomplices
Seven men arrested for rape after their co-conspirator gives them away to the police.

The police had been concerned about a group of men who raped and robbed women at night in Tshepisong during the previous two months, but their concerns have been put to rest with the arrest of seven men on charges of rape and armed robbery in Kagiso.
Four of the suspects, aged between 21 and 25, attacked a couple on Thursday, 04 August. When the male victim fled, the woman was robbed of two cellphones, a school bag and a wallet and then assaulted. Two other suspects then raped her.
These arrests follow that of a suspected serial rapist who identified the seven suspects as his accomplices while he was still in custody. The suspects have been detained at the Kagiso Police Station and a case of rape and armed robbery has been registered.
“Our members are doing well regarding these kinds of rapes. In 2015, a Leratong serial rapist was convicted and sentenced to seven life sentences and an additional 200 years.
We have confidence that Captain Bvuma is going to make us proud again,” said the Kagiso Police’s station commander, Brigadier Ngubane.
