Muldersdrift man wakes up to intruder

A 57-year-old man from Driefontein had a rude awakening when an intruder disrupted his sleep in the wee hours of Wednesday morning 28 August. It is alleged that he had forced his way into the house through a sliding door.

The robber fired a shot that wounded the victim on his upper body. He allegedly stole electrical appliances and fled the crime scene on foot.

The victim was taken to a local hospital. No arrest has been made yet but the Muldersdrift Police are requesting anybody with information that might lead to the arrest of the perpetrator(s) to please come forward. Members of the public are urged not to approach the suspect as he is deemed to be extremely dangerous.

A case of house robbery and attempted murder is being investigated.
