Two arrested for cable theft
Security personnel helped the police nab two men in Hekpoort.
Two suspects were arrested for cable theft in Weltevreden, Hekpoort on Thursday, 8 September.
The arrests took place after Oostermoed Security personnel were notified of a suspicious minibus seen dropping people off in the area. They went to the scene where they apprehended the suspects.
When police conducted patrols in the area, they found a bag full of copper cables. The two suspects, aged 28 and 30, were then arrested in connection with the theft.
Captain Zwane, the Hekpoort Police station commander, extended his gratitude towards Oostermoed Security and the community for the effort they made in apprehending the suspects.
