[UPDATE] Traffic officials back on duty
Mogale City traffic officers are back on duty after a brief rumoured strike this morning.
The News has just been informed that traffic officials are now back on duty.
This comes after the News received information that Mogale City traffic officials were on strike this morning at the Mogale City Traffic Department.
Spokesperson for Traffic Department, Papi Motaung confirmed that there was a strike going on although he could not provide further details.
Trusted sources told the News that traffic officials were unhappy about their salaries. According to the source, they were not paid for the work they did during the local elections.
After attending a meeting at the Traffic Department, Papi has come out with new information.
“I wouldn’t call it a strike because officers had gathered in a large group to have a meeting after they had worked overtime during elections and that money was not deposited in their bank accounts this month so they were unhappy about that,” Papi told the News.
He confirmed that traffic officials are now back on duty and that at a later stage today there will be another meeting where this matter will be discussed further.
