[UPDATE] Finally he can rest in peace
After a mix-up at the Sterkfontein Cemetery, Francois Treptow can once again rest in peace.
The Treptow family can once again place flowers on the beautifully decorated grave of their son and brother, Francois Treptow, following a mix-up at the Sterkfontein Cemetery.
A News article titled Nalatigheid, of ‘n onskuldige oepsie? informed readers about two graves at the Sterkfontein Cemetery being dug up by mistake, one of which was Francois Treptow’s.
After a lot of finger pointing, endless phone calls and countless trips to the cemetery, the grave, that was once decorated with rocks, flowers and a carpet of faux grass, has finally been restored.
“Everything was replaced on Monday and they knew what they were doing. It is just a pity that it took so long and a lot of fighting. I would like to thank Cindy, Leon and Punkie for all their work,” Robert Treptow, father of the late Francois Treptow said.
He added that although the grave has been restored, people must still be aware of what could happen.
