Mayor Lynn revives drug unit
After being established two years ago, and meeting an untimely demise, the Drug Unit task team is being resuscitated.
Newly elected Executive Mayor Lynn Pannall has taken the bull by tackling two of Mogale City‘s biggest problems: drugs and prostitution.
Two years ago her predecessor attempted to assemble a task team to try and combat this problem, but due to several factors he did not succeed.

The newly established task team will consist of various role players in the community, such as Economic Services, the Traffic Department, Council Members, the Community Policing Forum, the West Rand Chamber of Business and Tourism, the District Municipality, the police, AfriForum, security companies and, of course, the community.
A neutral person is yet to be chosen as chairperson of the task team. Gert Jonker who is the chairperson of the CPF in Krugersdorp, has been chosen as interim chairperson

The team will be hosting a safety and security workshop at the end of October, and they are inviting all interested businesses and community members to get involved.
