Kagiso Police officers surprised a robbery victim in the early morning of Wednesday, 9 November by knocking at his door in Hillsview, Kagiso and returning the property that had been stolen from him.
Apparently, the victim went to sleep at about midnight that night. At about 4am, a knock on his bedroom window woke him up. He was greeted by police who informed him that his TV set had been recovered at about 2.30am that morning.
Police allegedly told the man they had found and arrested two suspects in possession of the TV set. The victim was not aware of the burglary and praised police for their speedy recovery.
It was later found that the suspects had gained entry to his house by using an unknown instrument and force to open the door.
After he identified the TV as his own, the suspects were put under arrest and taken to the Kagiso Police station where a case of house breaking and theft was opened. The suspects appeared briefly in front of the Kagiso Magistrates’
Court on Friday, 11 November. They will remain in detention until their bail application is heard.
