Store owner helps arrest suspects
The victim blocked the road to prevent the suspects from leaving the scene.
A vigilant store owner had a stroke of luck on Thursday, 24 November when he caught a number of suspects stealing goods from his store.
The victim saw a suspicious vehicle driving onto his property at about noon that day. He observed the suspects from a distance. When the suspects tried to leave, the victim noticed the back of the bakkie was stuffed with cellphone batteries.
The victim blocked the road to prevent the suspects from leaving the scene. He then contacted the Krugersdorp Police who arrived on scene shortly afterwards. They arrested two suspects, aged 27 and 38.
The value of the batteries is estimated to be R20 000. The suspects will appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.
