Police close two drinking-holes
Hekpoort police closed down two shebeens for failing to produce their liquor licenses.
Hekpoort police will not tolerate any misbehaviour this festive season and they made it clear when they cracked down on two illegal drinking-holes.
Police closed down two shebeens at a farm in Hekpoort on Saturday, 3 December, for failing to show legal documents that give them permission to sell liquor.
Police received information from community members regarding the illegal shebeens and Warrant Officer Khumalo, Sergeant Phosa and Constable Mswanganye rushed to the shebeens to find them full of revellers.
Police discovered crates of alcohol in both shacks and when the shebeen owners failed to produce liquor licenses, they were arrested and the liquor was confiscated.
The Hekpoort Police station commander, Captain Zwane, was pleased with the arrests and urged community members to continue working with the police in order to fight crime in the Hekpoort area.
