Driver pinned in overturned truck on the R24

The road was closed for a considerable period.

A driver of a truck was pinned inside the cab after the truck had overturned in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 6 April on the R24.

Reports indicate that the accident happened in the Magaliesburg area.

The road was closed for a considerable period to allow emergency personnel to free the driver, who sustained critical injuries. He was transported to the nearest hospital.

The cause of the accident is not yet known, but paramedics and local traffic officers are still on the scene investigating.

The road has been reopened.
