In February the News published an article about local photographer Charles Kok and his studio winning an international award (the 11th Portrait Photo awards collection).
It seems that Charles has done it again.
His studio, Chay Studios, raked in another international award (the 12th Portrait Photo Awards Collection) for a portrait photo taken of model Poelo Mofolo.

This photo was also taken at Chay Studios in Krugersdorp, using a one light setup technique. Charles also used V-flats to imitate daylight by bouncing the light around the model.
Portrait Photo Awards is an international portrait photography contest and holds portrait photography competitions every month. The results of each collection are published monthly on the competition’s website and Instagram page. For the month of March Charles and Chay Studios received the award as overall winner.
Charles now stands an even better chance to be crowned best portrait photographer of the year, a prestigious title revered by the photographic community and bestowed only on the truly inspired artists in the field of photography.
This was Charles’ as well as Chay Studios’ second entry into this competition, and five portraits were entered this round. So far this means that every single time that Charles and Chay Studios entered this competition he walked away with the prize.
