Krugersdorp West library hungry for books
Donate your unwanted books and help children learn, students study and seniors enjoy the imagination of writers.
In a quiet street in Krugersdorp West, lies a library that is hungry for books.
Trudie Naude, councillor for Ward 38 is challenging the community to fill the library with books that are taking up too much space in their houses.
“We all have piles of books standing in our houses or garages collecting dust and taking up too much space,” said Trudie. “You might have tripped over them a few times or even considered throwing them away because they smell musty”.
But you end up not throwing them away because their tales filled your life with wonderful stories and prickled your imagination.

The Sakkie Nel Library at 45 Flemming Street, Krugersdorp West needs those books. Those great stories you have read and want to share with everyone else can find a home in the library and can possibly be shared with people around town.
The Library aims to provide old age homes with books by using their exchange scheme system. “Senior citizens love reading, but they have read their books many times. We want to give them new reading material.”

The library also wants to give less fortunate people in the community reading material to help them succeed in life. They are also dedicated to giving books to children from less fortunate homes. The library recently received a donation of 200 books, but they need more than that.

You can donate books to the library by calling Trudie on 082 657 6211. She will even go as far as picking the books up from your home. If you prefer dropping the books off at the library itself, you are welcome to do so.
Here are some books they need to fill the library:
• Any type of fiction in Afrikaans or English
• Mills and Boon Romances
• Reference books for post-matric students
• Children’s books
• Any other books you want to donate are also welcome
