Local charity to turn Krugersdorp around

Cross Connect focuses on partnering with locals and facilitating positive change in communities by working with children.

Cross Connect Community Outreach is taking Krugersdorp’s negative aspects head-on, by supporting local pre-schools, hosting sports and mentorship programmes and reaching out to drug addicts, to name just a few of their activities.

All this began when Pastor Kyle Tolman and Nicole Pienaar – who have worked in the ministry and on the mission field for numerous years – drove through the streets of Krugersdorp earlier this year and saw a wave of children wandering the streets without purpose while drug dealers and criminals lured them into a life of destruction.

“It broke our hearts to see this, that’s why we knew we had to do something about it. We then decided to create a platform for the community to get involved by giving their time, talent or treasures to our organisation and our partners in the community, by providing relevant information on the needs of the community,” Kyle said.

Cross Connect focuses on partnering with local churches, organisations, government, businesses and individuals to facilitate positive change in communities by changing children’s lives.

A few of their programmes include the Burgershoop Early Childhood Development Centre, various sports and mentorship programmes, an outreach program to drug addicts and a sewing skills project.
