Paardekraal Drive’s 3-in-1 collisions

Three collisions occurred in one night leaving many wondering what happened.

On Saturday night, 1 July, three collisions occurred within less than four hours in a radius of five kilometres from each other.

According to Piet Sparks, spokesperson for Sector 3’s Community Policing Forum (CPF) the first collision occurred at about 7pm near the intersection of Bush Road and Paardekraal Drive (R28), opposite Cedar Country Lodge. A pedestrian was allegedly run over and subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

The second collision occurred just past the Robert Broom Drive intersection with the R28, near Plantland, at about 11pm. “Two vehicles collided,” said Sparks.

The unusual traffic flow caused a third collision in which another two vehicles collided. No serious injuries were sustained during either of the latter two collisions, but the vehicle occupants were taken to hospital by the various emergency services on scene.

According to Sparks, all the vehicles were travelling from Silverstar towards Krugersdorp. All three incidents remain subject to further investigation.

The News is still investigating the respective situations as well.
