Nominees in 21 categories held their breath in anticipation of finding out who is the best of the best.
On the night of Friday, 30 June the West Rand Police put on their best shoes and tied their best ties to attend the West Rand Annual Prestige Awards at Usambara.
This prestigious occasion was hosted by the West Rand Cluster Commander, Major General Anna Mateisi and was instituted to recognise service excellence in all aspects of the police force.

Some of Gauteng’s Provincial Commissioners, including Major Generals Basson, Masha and Napo, as well as various honoured guests such as the West Rand District Municipal Manager, Ms Xaba and the ambassador of Interpol, Andy Mashaile also attended this award ceremony
Nominees in 21 categories held their breath in anticipation of finding out who is the best of the best. However, the runners-up from the individual categories did not go home empty-handed as most of them were awarded with trophies and certificates.

“I am honoured to award outstanding individuals and groups on their achievements tonight.
During the evaluation of nominees, we found that diligence, hard work and tenacity is the golden thread throughout. All nominees excelled in their respective environments. I applaud you,” said Major General Mateisi.
The keynote address was delivered by Major General Basson who again emphasised the importance of recognition in the working environment.
