[Watch] Video footage of oil factory burning
A trucker took a video of the black smoke coming from the factory.
Video footage of the burning oil factory has been released.
Yesterday, 6 July, the seed room at Majesty Oil Mills caught fire, emitting a huge ball of smoke.
A number of trucks
were parked outside, waiting to be unloaded. One trucker, who resides in Randfontein, said he saw the smoke and decided to park far away to make sure his load is safe.
He then took out his cellphone and started filming. In the video, black smoke can be seen rising into the air and community members running around trying to help.
Firemen from the West Rand District Municipality arrived on scene shortly after being called and the blaze was brought under control, using a nearby fire hydrant to secure water pressure to the hoses. The fire was soon extinguished. No injuries were reported.
