[JUST IN] Taxi drives over pedestrian near hospital

Sadly the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries.

A pedestrian was killed when he was knocked down by a taxi along the R41 near the Leratong crossing during the evening of Thursday, 13 July.

At about 7pm, paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found the man lying in the middle of the road.

Sadly, there was nothing that paramedics could do for the man and he was declared dead on the scene. No-one from the taxi sustained any injuries.

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department attended the scene and will conduct an investigation.
