Every day is Mandela Day

Things were a bit different on this 18th day of July.

Mandela Day is the one day of the year when charities and individuals across the globe join efforts to give back to the community. For Deo Gloria House it was just another day of giving and serving the community.

According to Frans van der Berg Pretorius from Deo Gloria House, they visit this part of Munsieville every day to ensure the children receive at least one meal per day.

Mandela Day was slightly different though when approximately 100 children between the ages of two and 16 years gathered to be treated to some boerewors rolls, blankets, cold drink, fruit and sweets.

Christa le Roux, founder of Deo Gloria House would like to thank Rockwell Automation, Contractors of Choice, Nova Chocolate, Gusto’s Division of Acacia Chemicals and Mapogo Security for sponsoring the goods for the day.

“Thanks to this team of dedicated volunteers these severely underprivileged children have the promise of at least one nutritious meal every day.

To see the smiles on these children’s faces is absolutely priceless. We are thrilled to be able to help fill their tummies every day,” Christa said.
