The new school term started off quite disastrous for motorists and a truck driver earlier this morning (24 July).

A truck was travelling down the R28 heading towards Muldersdrift when it’s brakes allegedly failed resulting in the truck overturning at the N14/ Pinehaven intersection.

The driver was trapped in the truck’s cab and freed by emergency services workers who used the Jaws of Life.

Various emergency services, as well as local authorities are currently on the scene.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes when heading towards the N14 as traffic is heavily backed up from both direction.

It is not yet confirmed if any other vehicles were also involved in the incident.
