Three boys rob man at knifepoint in the street

Despite it being past 6.30pm, the man managed to identify the suspects.

Three boys aged between 16 and 18 were arrested recently after they allegedly robbed a man in Hawk Street, Swanevillle.

The man was walking down the street at night when he noticed seven other people swiftly approaching him. He saw their intention of attack and decided to start running. The suspects chased after him and eventually caught him.

The man tried to resist and fight off the suspects, but they threatened him with a knife so he stopped resisting. The suspects took his cellphone and wallet and fled the scene. The wallet contained a considerable amount of money.

Despite it being past 6.30pm, the man managed to identify the suspects and later opened a case of robbery against them.

The Kagiso Police launched an investigation and manhunt for the suspects and made a breakthrough in the case when they managed to apprehend five of them the next morning. The arrests were only possible because of the help of the community who gave various tip-offs to the police during their investigation.

The suspects have been remanded in custody and will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon.
