Help Santa Shoebox march to reach 1 million children by 2019
From 1 September donors will be able to choose the child(ren) to whom they wish to give a Shoebox.
The Santa Shoebox (SSB) Project – South Africa’s most-loved children’s charity – has launched its three-year goal to March to a Million, with the aim of reaching one million children by 2019.
Pledging opened on 1 September.
According to founder and CEO, Irené Pieters, in the last ten years the project has benefited 652 180 children. In order to reach the one million mark, the goal for each year has been increased – 110 000 Shoeboxes this year, 115 000 in 2018 and 125 000 in 2019.
“We had more than 650 000 boxes last year. That is an astronomical figure and we are beyond thrilled. We are working hard to reach one million under-privileged children in the next two years. South Africa, we need you to make this possible,” Irené Pieters said.
If each current donor enlists three friends to pledge a Shoebox per year, the one million goal will be within reach. Alternatively, donors will be able to donate a Virtual Shoebox valued at R400 which the SSB team will themselves fill with the necessary contents.
Grab three friends to pledge with you and let’s March to a Million happy children together.
