Elderly woman falls from horse in Magalies

"Reports from the scene allege that the horse bucked causing the rider to lose her balance and fall from the saddle."

A female horse rider sustained serious injuries after falling off a horse while riding in Magaliesburg.

Netcare 911 reports that the 63-year-old woman went horse riding this morning, 6 September.

“Reports from the scene allege that the horse bucked, causing the rider to lose her balance and fall from the saddle,” said Nick Dollman, spokesperson for Netcare 911.

“[The woman] sustained several injuries and was attended to by a Netcare 911 Advanced Life Support paramedic. Analgesic medication was administered to manage her pain.”

She was in a stable condition and was transported by ambulance to hospital for further assessment and care.
