Man sets room on fire after argument with wife
"The wife left to visit some friends and when she came back she saw the flames and the burning rooms."
Krugersdorp Police have arrested a 27-year-old man after he allegedly set his room on fire after an argument with his wife.
Sergeant Tshepiso Mashele, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police, said the incident occurred at about 5.50am on Saturday, 2 September.

“…the suspect had a fight with his wife and threatened to burn the place down. The wife left to visit some friends and when she came back she saw flames coming from the burning rooms,” said Mashale.
Community Policing Forum (CPF) members from various sectors in Krugersdorp assisted other officials on scene. West Rand Fire Department and the Watchtower Society firemen extinguished the flames while paramedics assisted the patients.

Five people were treated for smoke inhalation and were transported to hospital by emergency services. No serious injuries were reported. A section of Luipaard Street was closed to traffic.

Rose Menezes, spokesperson for CPF Sector 4, thanked everyone who assisted.
“Well done to all. First Aiders on scene had their hands full, but did everything in their power to assist,” she said.
