[BREAKING] Man arrested in connection with Cradlestone’s Browns robbery

Investigations yielded welcome results.

The West Rand Trio Task team has made a significant breakthrough in Cradlestone Mall’s Browns robbery case.

They arrested a 28-year-old male suspect in Yeoville, Johannesburg last night, 13 September.

It is believed he is one of the seven suspects who tried to rob the jewellers on Sunday, 30 July at about 2pm.

According to Broll Management, seven suspects entered the mall and attempted to enter the store. A man and woman entered the store while the others waited outside. One of the suspects tried to break the shop’s front windows by shooting at the glass, but failed. Due to the efficient reaction of the staff and security, the smoke alarm was immediately activated.

The suspects fled the scene.

Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the West Rand Cluster Police said investigation into the case yielded welcome results.

“The team continuously followed up on information regarding the one suspect, who was identified as the shooter during the last robbery,” said Ernst. “They worked tirelessly in tracing the man and were successful last night.”

The team pounced on an address in Johannesburg where the suspect allegedly slept.

Major General Anna Mateisi, Cluster commander for the West Rand expressed her appreciation towards Lieutenant Colonel Gert Kruger and his team of dedicated investigators. She said their commitment in bringing perpetrators to justice is commended.
