Man stabbed to death on a night out

"I decided to run to his parents’ home to inform them. When we returned, he was dead."

A 27-year-old man died shortly after being stabbed in a tavern on Sunday, 10 September near the Madala Hostel in Sinqobile.

A 40-year-old witness said he left the man at a local tavern and went to another one. While at the second tavern, he noticed the man stumbling towards him.

“He told me that he had been stabbed. I decided to run to his parents’ home to inform them. When I returned with his parents, he had already died,” said the witness.

The victim sustained stab wounds to the upper body.

The motive for the stabbing is unknown, but the Kagiso Police have opened up a case docket of murder. They are appealing to members of the public to come forward with information that can lead to the successful arrest of the perpetrator(s).
