Missing for almost two years – friend has not given up hope

"He could be dead or alive. I have no idea."

Nearly two years ago a beloved friend of Denise Kok went missing and since the day he was reported missing, she has never lost hope in finding him.

Sarel Janse van Rensburg went missing on 1 January 2016 after he left Durban to live with his sister in Krugersdorp.

“His wife had passed away the previous year and he felt he needed to be around immediate family,” Denise said while recalling the last time she saw her beloved friend.

“He came back to Durban to visit me once, but since then I hadn’t heard of him at all.”

She reported him missing a few weeks after he went back to Krugersdorp because he hadn’t returned her calls. His sister, who was in a home in the area had also not heard of him since his supposed return.

“I’ve been searching for him ever since. He could be dead or alive. I have no idea. Sometimes God puts people in my life for a reason. Because He does, I feel the need to watch over them till the end.”

She said she was really worried about him.

“Sarel and his late wife were like family to me and I miss him dearly.”
