Mogale’s water chaos needs swift action
The municipality and Rand Water are accusing residents of not using water responsibly.

“The ANC-led municipality and Rand Water are accusing residents of not using water responsibly rather than solving the problem. Rand Water currently supplies us with one megalitre of water which is far below the consumption rate of seven megalitres per hour.
“The DA is calling for clear communications on the current challenges and how the situation will be resolved,” DA Councillor on the Infrastructure Portfolio, Lynn Pannall, said in a statement to the press.
It also wants the city to host proactive planning discussions with Rand Water and increase the repair and maintenance budget which has been decreased to a measly three per cent by the municipality.
