Pedestrian critical after collision on R512
The car that had hit the man was found on the side of the road a short distance away.
A man, believed to be in his 30s, was left critically injured this morning, 16 October when he was hit by a light motor vehicle on the R512 in Lanseria, north of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the man lying in the road. The light motor vehicle that had hit him was found on the side of the road a short distance away.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained serious injuries to his legs, chest and head, leaving him in a critical condition

The patient was immediately treated and provided with advanced life support interventions. Shortly after treatment, he was airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan Helicopter to Johannesburg General Hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was assessed and found to have escaped injury, but was visibly shaken.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
