Police uncover two stolen vehicles in suspect’s yard
Members of the Flying Squad caught a man with two stolen cars.
The Flying Squad recovered two vehicles that had been reported stolen and arrested a 34-year-old suspect from Swanieville on Tuesday, 26 September.
The arrest followed after the police found the suspect with two motor vehicles in his yard. The men in blue received a complaint of a stolen vehicle that was parked at a certain residential address in Kagiso. They proceeded to the crime scene and noticed a vehicle parked on the street at the given address.
Police conducted investigations which showed that it was reported stolen in Randfontein during this month of October. The cars were observed from a distance by the police who noticed the suspect moving property from the stolen vehicle.

They approached him and later put him under arrest, after finding another vehicle parked in the same yard. Further investigations revealed that this vehicle was also reported stolen, from Alexandra, in March. The police then searched the vehicle and uncovered suspected stolen property, including speakers, an amplifier, tools, a car radio, mag wheels and sharpened allen keys.
The recovered vehicles were taken to the police impound yard. The suspect was detained at the Kagiso Police Atation where a case of possession of stolen property was registered.
He appeared briefly in court on Thursday, 5 October, in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody for further police investigation.
